Obama Administration Blocked. So What?

The Obama administration has had its amnesty push for illegal immigrants pushed back! Texas federal judge Andrew Hanen issued a temporary injunction against Obama’s executive order to force amnesty onto the country against overwhelming public opposition, a power by the way that Obama himself said he doesn’t have. According to Hanen,

The ultimate question before the court is: Do the laws of the United States, including the Constitution, give the Secretary of Homeland Security (DHS) the power to take the action at issue in this case?

Hanen said that there are three questions to answer.

  1. Whether the states have standing to bring this case.
  2. Whether the DHS has the necessary discretion to institute the Deferred Action for Parents of America and Lawful Permanent Residence program (DAPA).
  3. Whether the DAPA program is constitutional, comports with existing laws, and was legally adopted.

In Hanen’s jurist opinion, a lawsuit regarding those questions is warranted.

“Hey. I have a question. How you gonna get back down that hill?”

Sorry, that was from the film, Hombre, with Paul Newman.

But it captures the essence of my actual question: So what?

When this case goes to the Supreme Court, and it probably will, many think that Obama will win it. If he does, my question still stands: So what?

I ask that because in a republic, at least a republic such as the one we have here in the Untied States of America, it doesn’t really matter what the Administration says. Nor does it matter what Andrew Hanen or any other federal judge says. It doesn’t even matter what the Supreme Court says. Theoretically – and in a sane world, pragmatically – speaking, all of the above government higher-ups are entirely irrelevant to what this nation does, is, intends, or wants to do. Obama, all Federal judges, all Supreme Court judges, all actors, writers, recording artists and sports stars, all are of no consequence for one reason. They have no power.

Let me explain.

In our system of government, it is The People that hold the power. Our Founders set the nation up – and this is part of their Divine prayed for and obtained genius – so as to force government entities, however lofty, into a subordinate, even subservient position. They formed our Constitution in such a way as to have full reign over those institutions that police them.

It really is a phenomenal concept.

And the one, sole, singular reason The People have the power over the President, the Administration, all Federal courts, including the Supreme Court, is that The People’s Congress have the money. That’s it. End of argument.

Obama wants amnesty? He needs money for it. He wants universal forced-pay health care? He needs money for it. The Supreme Court wants Obama to have kingship power, dictatorial control, total despotic dominance, it takes money to get it to him. And who holds The People’s money that’s available to the Government? Congress, and Congress alone. And by the way, as Obama is wont to say with emetic overuse, Let me be clear – Congress holds ALL the money.

That, too, was intended by our Founders.

They had a clear understanding of just what make the world go round. They knew that whatever a tyrant would try to do, he’ll need cash for it. So our wise and thoughtful Framers figured out a way to handcuff such tyrannical action. Let Congress, i.e., The People, hold the checkbook.

Brilliant.

However, our forefathers may not have anticipated The People being so stupid as to elect cowards.

It seems they didn’t foresee The People voting in Congressmen and Senators too insipid and weak-kneed to challenge a President on unlawful Executive Orders. The supreme laws of the land – the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, and the Constitution – nowhere speak of a President’s powers of Executive Order.

Obviously they had no intent of such a thing.

Nowhere in those historic and exemplary documents are found the idea of Czars, national education departments, and abortion-funding and equal employment agencies.

Nope, the drafters of our nation didn’t have such Bolshevik ideas as those.

Or if they did, they decided to leave them out of our superlative and over-seeing laws and rights documents.

And, sadly, they apparently didn’t have the idea that our Congress would grow to be too cowardly to stop a President from implementing such unconstitutional edicts as those Obama and the Democrats have shoved upon us.

Well, Ben Franklin might’ve. As he was leaving Independence Hall on the final day of deliberation over just what kind of government the new country was to have, a woman asked him what their days of deliberation would give them, a monarchy or a republic. “A republic,” retorted Franklin, then adding cryptically, “if you can keep it.”

So, bottom line, no matter what the President, the Supreme Court, or even Miley Cyrus says, the power in this country lies with The People, not with a President. It lies in the hands of the Congress and Senate, and unfortunately, if those pusillanimous hands hold that power out to those who would rape the Constitution, then it becomes The People who are at fault for America’s degradation.

I guess that timely phrase is all too true: Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.
