Brown (R) vs. Shaheen (D) – TIE in New England College Poll

The most recent poll also shows U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen almost neck-and-neck with her Republican challenger, Scott Brown: She’s ahead just slightly, 47.1 to 46.6 percent. The previous NEC poll put Shaheen ahead of Brown 50.1 to 42.8 percent.

The 2nd Congressional District race between Democratic incumbent U.

S. Rep. Annie Kuster and Republican opponent state Rep. Marilinda Garcia also narrowed, while the District 1 Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. Carol Shea Porter has fallen behind Republican Frank Guinta, according to the poll.

Director of the Center for Civic Engagement Wayne Lesperance said in a press release accompanying the results that “the Republican trend lines in all four races are positive, overcoming significant margins.” The New England College Polling Institute, affiliated with the civic engagement center, conducts the weekly polls leading up to the Nov. 4 election.
